Nagaland Population 2020: Literacy Rate, Growth Rate, Gender Ratio

Nagaland is a Northeastern state. It borders the state of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur to the south. Dimapur is the most important commercial place of Nagaland and is considered as the gateway to the two North-Eastern States- Nagaland and Manipur. Nearly all of Nagaland is mountainous. In the north the Naga Hills rise abruptly from the Brahmaputra valley.

The population density of the state is 119 persons per square kilometer. Total population of Nagaland as per 2011 estimations is 1,978,502, males and females are 1,024,649 and 953,853 in number. The Naga individuals had an effective self government structure since several years. It was however brought under the British association in the midst of their rule.
